Background
Nicolas Martignole has been building software since the late 1990s. A Java, Scala and web developer, he has worked as a freelancer, tech lead, CTO and partner, head of an IT services company and then Principal Engineer. Before joining Back Market in January 2024, he was a Principal Engineer at Doctolib from 2021 to 2023, where he worked on architecture, observability and crisis management at scale. He previously ran Lunatech in France and served as CTO and partner at CaptainDash.
He has shared this hands-on experience for many years on Le Touilleur Express. As co-founder of Devoxx France, he has also contributed since 2012 to one of Europe’s leading developer conferences.
Perspective
Digital and GenAI credentials
Nicolas Martignole’s credibility on GenAI comes from a practitioner’s view of the tools that are actually changing how technical teams work. He analyzes coding agents and assistants through their measurable effects on architecture, usage, productivity and costs. His experience as a Principal Engineer lets him connect fast-moving innovation to very operational questions of governance, observability and budget control.
